My Career Goals, Strengths, Weaknesses, And Weaknesses

1. Introduction This portfolio has been developed for the sole purpose to explore my personal experiences in BSB124 Working in Business and particularly my interpersonal effectiveness. In order for me to achieve my career goal in Human Resource Management, understanding interpersonal aspects will have a positive affect on me within the workplace (Gregorio, 2012). Within this portfolio, I will examine my own intrapersonal strengths and weaknesses regarding these competencies likely to help me in my general pursuit for professional success. I will specifically reflect on my intrapersonal effectiveness using the Schutte’s Emotional Intelligence scale measure of emotional intelligence and relate these to my future profession. Relating to my chosen profession within a Human Resources managerial position, I will produce effective ideas to improve my weaknesses. I also specify how I intend to develop such competencies based on my career goals, articulated in terms of the ‘SMART’ criteri a. 1. Interpersonal Effectiveness Intrapersonal effectiveness is defined as ‘understanding your goals, strengths, weaknesses, style and biases. and improving self-management skills, such as time management and stress management you are using interpersonal effectiveness.’ (De Janasz, Wood, Gottschlk, Dowd Schneider, 2006, p.3). Knowing my capabilities is a valuable asset to employees. It indicates my capability to capitalize on my strengths and work on my weaknesses (Norm, 2004).
